so full of dreams

While browsing the import section of barnes and noble yesterday, I came across this beautiful fashion spread in Italian Vogue shot by Ellen Von Unwerth.  That first shot kind of reminds me of one of my photographs.  Such a wonderful series.

wonderland

So amazed by this inspiring series of alice in wonderland themed photographs by artist Kirsty Mitchell.  She did this entire series over a span of three years.  It's amazing how much detail and thought went into each shot.  The result is a breathtaking collection.  You can view the entire series on her website along with some interesting behind the scenes things as well.

floral party

Such a beautiful shoot with art director Rhea Thierstein shot by the always amazing Tim Walker.  Who knew roses could look so amazing in jell-o?  These two also teamed up in this memorable shoot among others.  I need to subscribe to Italian Vogue.

like candy

Just discovered these beautiful cast sugar and polyurethane sculptures by artist Rebecca Holland.  These pieces are from her 2007 show at Barry Whistler Gallery.  I love the translucent quality of these works.  They look like giant blocks of candy (and essentially are minus the polyurethane.)

When I was working at an art supply store in college a lady who was trying to convince her husband she needed at $90 sable brush said to me, "You're only as good as your materials."  If I had just been a customer I would have loved to respond with "You're only as good as your imagination."

television interiors: New Girl

New Girl didn't start out well for me.  I was excited to see Zooey Deschanel on a weekly basis, but when I barely made it through the pilot,  I was more than disappointed.  I didn't watch any more episodes for awhile until I started hearing how great it was.  I decided to give it a second chance and I'm very glad I did.  It is such a cute show, much better now that one of the characters was replaced after the pilot.

It's full of subtle humor which I love and of course their beautiful loft doesn't hurt either.  I love their main living area.  That couch looks so beautiful and comfortable all at the same time.  They have the perfect mix of vintage and new pieces.  My favorite is probably their gorgeous farm house table with the mix of vintage chairs.  And having that rooftop terrace would certainly be a perk.  The only negative to me is the locker room style communal bathroom with no door.  Especially when you have three male roommates...

paper adornments

Love these fantastical paper hats/headpieces by artist Stuart McLachlan.  Could have quite a fun party with everyone wearing these beauties.
