new year's dress

I had lovely christmas holiday and I hope you all did as well. I got those pink sparkley ballet flats from jcrew and can't wait to wear them out. I did not get snow, but 60 degree weather and a torrential downpour. Not my ideal christmas weather, but what can ya do.

The only thing I like about new year's eve is the cute cocktail dresses that are out everywhere. Here's a few that I'm particularly fond of:

storque feature

I was featured in a Storque article yesterday over on etsy. It was a shop local piece on Atlanta and I was one of the chosen sellers. :)

I am so jealous of all of these snow photos I'm seeing all over flickr. It finally dropped back down below 60! It's still supposed to warm back up and rain just in time for christmas. Mother Nature, what did I ever do to you?

coincidence

I was looking through my book,

The Audrey Hepburn Treasures

and saw this wedding photo of hers

I noticed it looks so much like my mom's wedding dress. You can't tell from this picture obviously, but it's almost the exact shade of pink and about the same shape and everything. The collar is pretty much the only thing that's different. I just thought that was interesting.

(I really miss my polaroid camera! It died a month or so ago and I don't think I should buy a new one because it's so hard to find film now.)

red and snow

I've found more lovely deep saturated red over at anthropologie today. So beautiful.

and while I was over there, I happened to find this skirt I've been drooling over on clearance for $40! (and now I see they are sold out my size. good thing I ordered it yesterday!) It reminded me of my photograph.

I saw these over at oh joy! today. I just love the clean white look to them.

I'm still waiting for this:

sick of this weather

It's so dreary here right now. It's in the mid 60's and raining again. I'm not feeling christmasy at all. So, I've been looking up movies all this morning. I saw this photo somewhere and it reminded me of foreign 60's and 70's movies like la dolce vita (which I absolutely adore).

My husband heard somewhere that they will be realeasing Comtempt on blu-ray soon and it made me very excited. I love bridget bardot. That movie makes me want to go to capri so bad!

I love their apartment.

amazing

I just discovered this amazing photographer named rune guneriussen. Their takes all of the elements I love and put them into this amazingly creative photographs. I've had a huge love affair with light bulbs and lamps for the past 5 years. I'm in awe right now.

alternative christmas trees

While I love my tree very much, I'm getting kind of bored with the plain green tree that I've had since I was born. I made my mom save it for me when they got a new one so I could have one when I had my own place. Well, after looking at these, I might have to change it up next year.

This one from flickr started my fascination. I noticed at lobster and swan blog

Then last night, as I was waiting for my spaghetti squash to finish roasting, I happened to see this very unique tree on a kid's show called icarly.

So this morning, I decided to google alternative christmas trees and this is what I found:

I have always wanted a pink tree.

The possibilities are endless.

winter

I'm so in love with black and white and red right now. I just need some red tights and snow and I would be a very happy girl. This will have to suffice for now.

procrastinating

Not much happening today. I really need to hop on it and get all of my christmas shopping done. I know what I'm getting everyone it's just the going out and getting it that's slowing me down. Time's going by too fast! So slow down and enjoy this lovely song and video from a few years back.

advent calender

Since I've been making most of my christmas decor this year, I decided to make an advent calendar. When I saw this one over at the red thread, I knew I had to make one. Mine turned out really big, so I had a hard time photographing it well, but you get the idea.

I'm tempted to put out a holiday card with this photo on it for my family, but I think it's too late. (and I don't know if I really want to be that person)
